Elements To Bring Your Space Together

In our most recent blog, we took a look at a few important things to consider prior to beginning the remodel process. These considerations consisted of logistical items, such as hiring contractors, obtaining permits, and setting a healthy budget. While logistics are necessary to consider, it is important not to let it dominate the entire process, as your remodel should be fulfilling and rewarding as well. In today’s blog, your Houston, TX interior designers take a look at the artistic design side of your project and discusses important elements that you can implement to bring your space together.

Add a Splash of Color

Such as with putting together an important portfolio or organizing a work project, your remodel and redesign should involve a few different moving steps. It is often not as effective going at it alone, but too many cooks in the kitchen can quickly cause your project to derail and get out of hand. We share this sentiment with the remodel and design process, as there truly is an art to getting everything on track.

Our team aspires to be your right-hand-man: we want to help you accomplish your goals by providing a unique and important perspective in the process. With an eye for design, we can certainly help steer you in the right direction when you feel stuck. One such way we do this is by helping you make the connections that truly bring your space together.

Adding a splash of color is an excellent example of bringing your space together, as nothing brings body to a room more than a tasteful splash of color! This can mean painting a single wall a different color while the other three remain white (a stark contrast that we cannot get enough of!), or simply placing accent pieces throughout the room.

Perfect Your Lighting

Another major way you can bring your project to an entirely different level is through perfecting your lighting. Believe it or not, lighting can make or break a concept. In terms of practicality, you do not want a space that is barely illuminated. By contrast, extremely bright lights may be overpowering as well.

From a design perspective, however, light can be used in so many different ways. It can help draw attention to a specific element in the room, or it can be used to case shadows in an artistic way as well. Give our team a call to learn more!

Organize Your Bookshelves

Bookshelves are a must in many living spaces and den areas. The problem is, however, if you are not curating what goes on the shelves in what areas or positions, it can quickly appear as a cluttered and disorganized mess. One suggestion we offer is to not only organize your shelves and books according to a specific pattern (color, size, etc.), but to intersperse other elements as well. This can be a bookend, a small ornamental decoration, or anything else you can think of.
